Its about time I named a photography with the word Epic in the title, well I found this photograph very fitting, what could be more fitting than 15P?
BR Standard Class 7 No. "70013 Oliver Cromwell" heads up BR Standard Class 8 No. "71000 Duke Of Gloucester" in the most powerful double head I have ever seen.
This was the first train of the day to Heywood at the East Lancashire Railways Steam Gala.
Epic sums it up quite accurately. Both engines letting off steam at the same time and billowing so much smoke you would think its a moving inferno.
I noticed alot of your pictures are on this same turn but then again. All of them have been excellent shots. I am not really literate on the classes but at first glance they both look like 9F's
I noticed that the smoke and steam reaches all the way to the 'back' of the train.
The usual amount of debris and parts in the foreground add to the scenery typical of leaving a yard or station so no gripe about those
Haha indeed, the double header was a rare one off event for the day and in general, hence why i got up early and captured it, wondering if you had seen his --->[link]
