Literature Text

It was late afternoon on Preston station,
Its roof iconic for the British nation.

A single car unit short and old,
Arrived late, with its passengers cold.

At the end of the platform it entered, maybe,
Where all the trainspotters would be.

The guard would leave, walking down the platform,
Where he realised it was not warm.

Whilst more staff came to clean it quick,
For time ran out as the clock went tick.

The new guard came running up fast,
As the trains departure time was nearly surpassed.

Finally It departed on time due to quick turnaround,
Heading for a single line southbound.

It past briefly down the mainline,
Then to right with a small decline.

Along a single line it followed alone,
Its destination most definitely known.

Stopping at Rutherford, Croston and Burscough,
With Ormskirk as its last drop-off.

Here the train waited some time,
Before preceding back up the line.

Passing through the fields of Lancashire,
For which the driver and guard would admire.

A lonely unit up and down,
And I think for this it deserves a crown.
Here we have another poem i wrote, based it on the lonely service that runs from Preston to Ormskirk, run by a Class 153.

Here is a picture of it at Preston on its run ---> [link]

Pretty cool, see that's what hanging around me does for you. You pick up tips and learn how to use the ideas you have. Once the words start to flow, they never ever stop... :)
